Practical information

Wear sensible shoes and layers. Cellars can be cool and we may walk through the vines.

Each visit last between 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. and is conducted by an English speaking guide in the chateaux. The visits cover the vines, grape varieties, wine making  and end with a tasting of several wines.

NB:  Tasting sizes are small in France, generally 2-3 oz.

All visits are depending on availability at the time of booking.

** A supplement will be charged for pick-up outside Bordeaux depending upon location.

The Graves region, first area in Bordeaux to produce and sell high quality wines as early as the 12th century. Graves is derived from gravel which is the prime component in the soil, along with clay and sand. This combination makes for the finest terroir in the region.  Your one day Bordeaux wine tour in the graves will include dry white, sweet white and red wines accompanied by a delicious picnic lunch.

Today famous names such as Smith Haut Lafite, Liber Pater (one of the most expensive wine in the world - it just passed Domaine Romanée Conti), Carbonnieux, Haut Bailly, Fieuzal and Domaine de Chevalier can be found in this region.
