A welcome dinner and an informal introduction to Bordeaux wines, wineries, the people and the grapes with your hostess and guide for the week (and Heritage Bay Member/Resident) Mary Dardenne. Mary is an Accredited Bordeaux Wine Educator who has been in the region for over 20 years. She represents the Medoc wine council in the US lecturing to somms and wine merchants. An American with a vast knowledge of the area and its wines, she will lead you gently into this varied and complex wine region.The best way to start off your Bordeaux discovery.

Depart with your guide for a 2 hour Bordeaux City Walking Tour followed by a visit at La Cité du Vin (The Wine City). Your guide will meet you at your hotel. Departure for a guided walk in Bordeaux then on the tram to the Cite du Vin. Bordeaux, the city, once named the "Sleeping Beauty" of France, has definitely awakened! Discover the main historic monuments and the unique architecture of Bordeaux. This tour will cover the historic center of this UNESCO city and you will sample some of our local delicacies.For the rest of the day. We will provide you with a Bordeaux City Pass to use on your own. This is an all day pass which includes an all day tram ticket, entry into 20 different museums and the wine museum.
